Letterpress printer Amos Kennedy loves wood type. When Virgin Wood Type was just getting it's beginnings, Amos visited and bought a box of old stuff full of what turned out to be Gothic 540. Fast forward a few years and there's Amos, looking for more of the same. I redrew this face in vector form using old American Wood Type specimen catalogs as reference. We laser-cut birch patterns to trace on our pantograph router, which mills end grain maple into wood type.
